Gas and Central Heating Tips
- Don’t turn up the heating unless you really need to. Unless it’s just too cold for comfort, try to keep your thermostat at 19°C. Your heating costs will go up by 8% each time you increase the temperature by just one degree
- Thick carpets and underlay help stop heat escaping through concrete floors
- Keep doors and windows closed, and draught-proof, in cold weather. If you’re too hot, try turning the heat down first. In warmer weather, when the heating is off anyway, you can let more air in.
